Andrew Fairbairn, FRICS LLM, Consultant

Andrew has over 35 years’ property experience and is a founding Director of White Commercial Surveyors having previously worked in local government, Fairview Estates, Saudi Fal (in Saudi Arabia), Chesterton and Fairbairn Wild. Andrew carries out Commercial and Residential Property Management, Investment and Professional work including valuations, rent reviews, lease renewals and business rates.

He has undertaken research into advanced commercial property law and has taken seminars in China and Vietnam on behalf of Oxford Brookes University for experienced delegates with a financial or property background seeking to become Chartered Surveyors. This has helped Andrew to maintain an up to date knowledge of changes in legislation, regulations and case law which can be applied to identify opportunities for clients to optimise their returns from, and use of, their property holdings.

Andrew utilises his penchant for beauty, tranquillity and excitement through devising challenges about which he then gives presentations to promote awareness of, and raise funds for, the important work of various charities. In 2009 he travelled 1,200 miles on foot, cycle and kayak from the Scilly Isles to the Shetland Islands to raise money for schools for disabled children in Uganda. Subsequently, amongst other self-imposed tests, he has soloed Tower Ridge (Ben Nevis) and ascended the via ferrata sheer face of the Daubenhorn (the longest via ferrata in Switzerland). His next targets on behalf of charities are ‘Coast to Coast’ via Hadrian’s Wall and a solo ascent of the Matterhorn.
