White Commercial ‘rise’ to the challenge on ‘Project Bake’ with first flagship retail store acquired In Crown Walk Bicester Oxfordshire

Following the recent announcements on the trading difficulties being experienced on the High Street, White Commercial can confirm that they have acquired the first flagship unit for their clients trading as Warren Bakeries in Crown Walk Bicester – home of the world renowned Bicester Retail Village.

Bicester has been chosen as the flagship store in the company’s expansion plans due to Bicester’s substantial commercial and residential expansion (9,700 houses). Bicester has also been chosen by the government as one of the first garden towns in the country and situated on the government’s recently chosen ‘Oxbridge Corridor and Expressway’ linking the two university towns and with substantial residential and commercial growth along the 130 mile corridor.

White Commercial Surveyors are looking to acquire a further 10 retail units under their ‘Project Bake’ requirement, in the Oxfordshire/Northamptonshire and Warwickshire regions.

Chris White, Managing Director of White Commercial, commented “This is an excellent acquisition for the company and expansion into the area. Our client is a premium artisan British bakery with over 150 years of experience producing high quality products. We continue to look for kiosks or retail units of up to 1,500 sq ft either leasehold or freehold. Warren bakeries’ preferred locations are Banbury, Brackley, Chipping Norton, Daventry, Kidlington, Rugby and Towcester however our client may consider others in these regions.”

Robert Crompton representing Warren Bakeries commented “We are looking into all opportunities to cater for our product, e.g. high street store, shopping centre, kiosk and retail parks, and are keen to progress quickly. Our opening at Bicester has been received well and the Warrens brand is progressing well.”
