Game On, Bicester! Noughts & Nibbles Rolls the Dice on Sheep Street
A brand-new destination for tabletop and social gaming enthusiasts, Noughts & Nibbles, is set to open its doors on 1st March 2026 at 1–3 Sheep Street, Bicester. The exciting new board game café will occupy this prominent town centre location, offering visitors a unique space to play, socialise, eat and drink.
Located in a striking 2,090 sq ft high-ceiling retail space on the corner of Sheep Street and Market Square, the venue promises an inviting atmosphere in the heart of Bicester’s bustling shopping district. The property benefits from excellent natural light and historic architectural features, having previously housed a banking hall before being repurposed for modern retail and leisure uses.
Noughts & Nibbles combines a café experience with an extensive library of games suited to all tastes—from classic favourites like Chess, Scrabble and Backgammon, to modern strategy titles such as Catan, Wingspan and Ticket to Ride, as well as tabletop role-playing games including Dungeons & Dragons and trading card tournaments. With a focus on community, inclusivity and entertainment, the café will host regular themed events, game nights and competitions.
“We’re thrilled to bring Noughts & Nibbles to Bicester,” said Phil Walley, founder of the café. “Our vision is to create a welcoming hub where people of all ages and interests can come together to play games, enjoy great food and drinks, and make lasting memories. Sheep Street is the perfect place for this venture—right in the centre of Bicester’s vibrant high street.”
The new café will offer a menu of freshly prepared light meals, snacks and specialty beverages designed to fuel long gaming sessions. With flexible seating arrangements, ample table space and dedicated zones for different types of play, Noughts & Nibbles aims to appeal to families, students and hobbyists alike.
Harvey White, Property Advisor at White Commercial Surveyors commented “This transaction reflects the wider structural shift we’re seeing in retail and town centres generally, where service and community led uses are increasingly replacing traditional shopping. Noughts and Nibbles and those like them create reasons for people to spend more time in town centres, not just passing through them, helping to build footfall, social interaction and a genuine sense of place. Delighted to have supported this transaction and to bring another use that will positively contribute to the long-term vitality of the town centre.”
